Why Discover AI?

AI Doesn't Have to Be Intimidating

You don't have to know the perfect prompt, understand complicated technology, or consider yourself "good with computers." You just need something you're curious about.

💬

Talk Naturally

Learn that you can communicate with AI much like you would explain something to another person.

🧭

Learn to Steer

Discover how to ask AI to simplify, explain, change, improve, or try again when the first answer isn't right.

💡

Start With What Matters

Instead of learning technology for its own sake, start with something you actually want to understand or accomplish.

“You don't have to know the way. You just need to know where you want to go.”

Community Program

Free AI Education for Your Community

Discover AI is designed to help community organizations introduce adults to AI in a relaxed, practical, beginner-friendly way.

The goal isn't to turn people into technology experts. It's to help them leave thinking, “Maybe I can actually use this.”

FREE 60-MINUTE COMMUNITY INTRODUCTION

A relaxed introduction for adults who are curious about AI but may feel intimidated by technology.

  • Start with YOU
  • Talk naturally with AI
  • Learn how to steer the conversation
  • Discover practical possibilities

“Same Questions. New Possibilities.”

01

Start With What You Care About

We don't begin with a lecture about technology. We begin with something people actually want to do, learn, plan, understand, or create.

02

Ask AI Like You'd Ask a Person

There isn't one magical way to phrase a question. If AI doesn't understand, explain what you meant and try again.

03

Make the Answer Work for You

Ask AI to summarize, simplify, give examples, change the format, or focus on just one part.

04

Keep Exploring

Once you understand the conversation, the possibilities become much bigger than a single demonstration.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Curious about AI? You're not alone. Open a question to learn more.

What is Discover AI?

Discover AI is a free community outreach program designed to demystify artificial intelligence and help people become more comfortable, informed, and confident using it. You don't need to be technical or have previous AI experience.

Do I need to know anything about AI?

No. Discover AI is designed for beginners. We start with simple, hands-on experiences and build from there.

Can I trust AI?

Not blindly. AI can be extremely useful, but it can also be wrong. One of the most important AI skills is learning how to question, evaluate, and verify what AI gives you.

Does AI make things up?

Yes. AI can sometimes provide information that sounds convincing but isn't true. That's why knowing how to check an answer is just as important as knowing how to ask the question.

Is AI dangerous?

AI has real risks, including misinformation, privacy concerns, bias, security issues, and misuse. Discover AI doesn't tell you what to think about AI. We help you understand it well enough to think for yourself.

Is AI going to take my job?

AI is already changing the way many people work, and some jobs and tasks will change significantly. Exactly what the future looks like is difficult to predict. What you can do is learn how to work alongside increasingly capable technology.

Is using AI cheating?

Not necessarily. AI can be used as a learning tool, brainstorming partner, research assistant, or creative collaborator. The important question is whether you're using AI to support your thinking—or replace work you're expected to do yourself.

Will AI make us less intelligent?

It depends on how we use it. If we use AI to avoid thinking, it can become a crutch. If we use it to explore ideas, learn, and challenge our thinking, it can become a powerful tool. The goal isn't to let AI think for you. It's to help you think better.

What information should I give AI?

Be careful with sensitive information. Avoid sharing passwords, financial account information, Social Security numbers, confidential business information, or private information about other people. When in doubt, leave it out.

Which AI should I use?

There isn't one AI that's best for everything. Different tools have different strengths. Discover AI isn't about promoting one particular AI company. It's about helping you understand how to choose the right tool for the job.

Do I have to pay to use AI?

No. Many AI tools offer free options, while others have paid plans with additional capabilities. Discover AI focuses on helping people explore what's possible without requiring them to buy anything.

What if I'm skeptical about AI?

That's welcome. You don't have to believe AI is amazing, and you don't have to use it. Questions, skepticism, and healthy caution are part of being AI-literate. Discover AI is a place to explore—not a place to be sold on AI.

What if I don't know what I'd use AI for?

That's a great place to start. Think about something that takes too long, is confusing, requires research or writing, is frustrating, or is simply something you've always wanted to try. Then ask: "Could AI help me with this?"

What's the game about?

The game is a doorway into AI—not the destination. It's designed to give you a fun, low-pressure, hands-on experience so you can become comfortable interacting with AI. Once you've taken that first step, there's much more to discover.

What is the goal of Discover AI?

Confidence. Curiosity. Understanding. You don't need to become an AI expert. You just need to discover what AI might be able to do for you.

“Still have questions? Good. That's what Discover AI is about.”
